Meet Splash - the inspiration for this project. He is a loving and energetic dog that joined our family two years ago. Splash made his way to us via Great Dog Rescue New England, who had found this sweet pup in Tennessee. As soon as we met him, we knew that he'd make a great playmate for our two equally energetic children. And we were right - the three of them are the best of friends.
Unfortunately, one morning during a particularly energetic romp, Splash fell and tore the cruciate ligament in his right knee. He has since undergone surgery and recovering well.
While brainstorming how to cover this unexpected expense an idea came to me. This setback would be an opportunity for a new project. Why not use my skills as a potter to help Splash and the many dogs like him being rescued every day? $2 for each bowl sold will be donated to Great Dog Rescue to help find loving homes for other dogs like Splash.

Bowls are wheel-thrown with stoneware clay then decorated with attention and care in my home studio in Arlington, MA. Bowls are glazed and fired to cone 10 in a gas reduction kiln. They are food, microwave and dishwasher safe.
